Rose Boyd

Rose Boyd Walker is President and CEO of Writing4Success PR and Marketing, which offers public relations and marketing for writers, an editing service and an education division where she teach writing classes. Rose is an author, freelance writer, columnist, motivational speaker, workshop facilitator, publicist and editor. She has written articles on public relations and marketing for Absolute Write and a five article mini series for the British Magazine, The New Writer, along with publishing over 150 articles for several publications, including The Writing Parent, IslandOak, Busy Freelancer, WriteforCash, Working Writer, The Cordova Appeal and The Mid-Town Appeal. She has written two books and worked with literary agent, Michael Valentino of Cambridge Literary Associates in Newburyport, MA. A motivational speaker for writers specializing in public relations and marketing, has spoken on PR and Marketing at the 11th Memphis Black Writers Conference and Southern Film Festival and 10th Annual Life Press Christian Writers Conference. As a speaker and workshop facilitator Rose also has given talks to audiences at East Shelby Library, Germantown Community Library, Christian Brothers University, Courtyard Marriott and Mid-South Writers Association. Each speech or seminar Rose Walker delivers is customized for the audience that will leave them with new ideas and ways to become a successful writer. Rose has been a guest on radio and television programs including Sister to Sister, On Cable Tonite and Live at Nine. She has written three columns, Financially Write for One Swan Productions, Money Matters for Single Focus Newsletter and Financially Write for Writer Gazette. Rose was a contributing writer for Successful Families News Magazine and taught a freelance writing class through the Continuing Education Department at The University of Memphis. Writing4Success sponsored a writer’s conference in 2005 featuring Johanna Edwards, author of The Next Big Thing, Emily Yellin, author of Our Mother’s War, Ellen Westbrook, publisher and editor of Southern Women Magazine and Susan Dynerman, freelance writer and contributing writer for The Washington Post, Time Magazine and Fortune Magazine.

 

Rose was previously in Corporate America for twenty-three years as a banker, mortgage banker and self-owned financial consulting firm. She also was a mortgage consultant for Optimal Process where she did consulting work for National Bank of Commerce, Leader Federal, Community Mortgage, Chase Mortgage, Union Planters and other financial firms local and out-of-state. Rose resides in Cordova, Tenn. as a single mother of two, the grandmother of one, a member of St Francis Catholic Church where she sits on The Welcome Committee, a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and has a degree in Business from The University of Phoenix. She is a member of Women’s Literary Form, Online Writer’s Guild, a former member of The Memphis Board of Realtors and formally a coordinator for the volunteers of The Black Family Reunion. Ms. Walker and her company, Writing4Success, have been recognized for Inclusion in The Metropolitan Who’s Who Registry for Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs.
